Guardian journalist Paul Lashmar is the author of a new book published in March 2025 about the Plunkett-Ernle-Erle-Drax family of Dorset and their role in slavery and the British sugar industry in Barbados. Spanning 400 years and 18 generations, Drax of Drax Hall is based on painstaking archival research. Paul has kindly agreed to sign copies of his book at this event.
Please note that this talk will cover controversial topics including slavery and colonialism and the views of the speaker are his own.
