We were alerted by The National Archives that this material was coming up for sale in Reading and were delighted to be able to acquire it. The records cover the period 1941-1943 and consist of detailed records of air raids on the town of Bournemouth. Included within the purchase were a map showing the patterns of bombs dropped and the locations where planes had crashed. Given the huge interest in wartime affairs, this is an important addition to the publicly available record of life in Bournemouth as it endured regular attacks from enemy aircraft.
