The Trust was able to purchase several lots of Poole Pottery archive which recently came up for auction in both Dorchester and Poole. The history of this archive is itself fascinating - most of the collection was sold in 2004 in circumstances that are still not clear to this day. Thanks to an emergency fundraising effort, much of the archive which was auctioned by Duke's of Dorchester and Christies in London, was purchased for the public collection. Several of the lots that were not acquired in 2004 have now been reunited with the principal archive at the Dorset History Centre. Thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the National Libraries which funded the largest part of the purchases, Dorset Archives Trust was able to acquire these items for the Dorset History Centre.
